The movie is SO SLOW, it’s unreal. Nicole got Lucy’s voice. But that’s about it. Same for Javier. But this movie definitely makes you dislike, if not, hate the egotistical Lucille Ball. She was a pompous wanna-be star when she had no right to be one…long before “ILL.” She obviously was rude and degrading to anyone and everyone. And interviews with her always showed that side of her personality: “I’M LUCY! AND YOU SHOULD WORSHIP ME!”
Desi was a brilliant man…who came across as very kind to his staff. But was a wimp to his wife at work. And allowed her to be a jerk, sadly. I could see him not wanting to be “home” with her. I don’t know how her second husband managed being “Mr Lucille Ball.” Gary Morton was even more mild-mannered than Desi seemed to be.
What’s most surprising is Lucie Arnaz had a lot to say about this film. I’m shocked she allowed her mother to be seen as she ACTUALLY was. Also… how could they get the apartment for this scene wrong?? The version shown was their SECOND apartment, with a window. The episode was shot in their first apartment…NO WINDOW. What a HUGE ERROR!!
Lots of ideas and memories were just ruined with the film. Besides being a huge YAWN.
