There’s a lot of hate and allegations of wokeness in this film. IMHO it couldn’t be further than from the truth. There is little to nothing original in the plot, but the script is decent and the acting is good. It’s a typical spy thriller, just not serious. It’s no James Bond or Mission Impossible- it’s more along the lines of True Lies (the original with Arnold). Are there unrealistic scenes? Yep - and plenty of them- in typical Hollywood fashion. But that’s ok, this movie isn’t trying to be what it’s not, it’s simply fun and entertaining. Not every movie has to be accurate nor serious- some just desire to give you 110 minutes to put the world away.

I was so excited for this movie as I’m of the OG Fall Guy generation. Other than the GMC square body which only had a cameo….theres zero to tie in with the original. It felt disjointed and nothing like the original stories. I fully understand making movies for target demographics, but then why make it appear to be for one demographic when it’s obviously not. The entire movie was a snooze fest. Script was mediocre, actors tried but can only do so much. This mess of a movie just fails to deliver. It could have been a much better movie without much work- first ditch the fall guy theme, target the audience you’re after. Then fix the flow. This movie couldn’t run downhill as is. Then market it as the movie it is not the one it fails to be.

Watching this movie is plain torture. They tried their best to not rip off Twister (the original) by altering some details of the plot- but basically that’s what it is. Horrible script, editing that is … well … bad. Just bad. The acting (even by big names Alex Baldwin and Anne Heche ) is pathetic. It feels like no one wanted to be in this movie…like maybe it was a contractual obligation. The only thing that’s decent is the FX, even the music score is repetitive and boring.

If you are expecting some sort of cinematic masterpiece that will utterly change your very being, Jackpot is NOT it. If, however, you are looking for some entertainment where you will giggle and laugh your way through the movie while seeing a (predictable) storyline unfold, Jackpot delivers. This movie is designed to entertain, the core of the story is told within a unique framework and the end result is a great time.

Fuji’s movie had such potential….but they dropped the ball. The story line is dark, and that’s fine, but the story is fractured and lacks cohesion. It also drags on so badly in some sections it’s almost painful. Then there’s the complete and utter lack of realism. It’s really too bad, they so could have made this into a phenomenal movie.

This had the potential to be a good movie, maybe even great, but it fell very short. JLo just isn’t believable in her roll, and this film is all about her. The CGI is great, the script is mediocre. I so wish this had been a better movie, I wanted to like it.

Meh. This had the potential to be a great show, it just couldn’t quite get there. For those who thought this was going to be an “accurate” portrayal of such an event, that was never the point. So what’s the issue then? The entire show feels disjointed. Like you’re missing stuff between scenes. The flow is choppy and not at all seamless. Intentional “hard” cuts feel even harder as a result. Can’t quite figure out if this is a script issue or an editing issue…or maybe a combination of both. Over exaggerated personality quirks of the characters are simply too exaggerated - and lose their comedic value. It’s worth watching if you are looking for some mindless entertainment or background noise, but it’s not something I’d say is a must watch. I wish Netflix would have tried just a little harder- we could have had a great show.

Wow! I’ve watched some horrible movies before but this one has to be the worst. Acting, if you can call it that, is worse than kindergarten kids in a Christmas program. CGI looks like it was done on someone’s laptop at the kitchen table and the dialogue is even worse. So many bad things- planting explosives on a glacier moving at 200 mph?! Military protocols that aren’t even close to accurate- the list is extensive as to what’s wrong with this movie.

Having read the Tom Clancy novel this adaptation is based on many years ago, I was genuinely looking forward to this movie. I was sadly disappointed. There is little of the original story here, the acting is sub par at best and the script is just …well … yucky is the only word for it. Tom Clancy must be rolling over in his grave over this atrocity.
