What does being a parent entail? Who is a parent? Is it defined by the DNA, or who gives birth, or is it an emotional connection?...are some questions that the movie grapples with. It can be a bit unrealistic and dramatic sometimes, but nonetheless I feel it has a strong message at the end. The movie complicates the obsession with reproducing ones genes as central to becoming a parent, and instead directs the audience to other possible avenues for parenting such as adoption.I simply loved the message of adoption at the end of the movie. Kriti Sanon , Pankaj Tripathi, and the supporting cast have done an amazing job. And Mimi's family in the movie is way more progressive than any family I have met in Delhi, or even in the US. They are so accepting and heartwarming. I saw the movie without much expectation and I enjoyed it. :):)
