By far, doesn´t pass the Bechdel test (two female characters with name, that talk to each other about something else but a man).
I liked the moments with the priesthood, that was funny. I sort of hoped the dialog between the two falling in love would get deeper, but no, a big disappointment there. In this movie a love connection is all about sex and a final kiss solves it all.
As a historical artefact, it is astounding to see all the things this rom-com normalizes: clichés around male sexuality, females as predators, male bonding around gambling, rape scene goes by as if nothing happened. It was really creepy. And problematic
Personally, I saw this on TV when i was still a child growing up, definitely not a film to watch when one has no criteria yet.
