Mr Galitzine, right out of the gate, was so impressive. I find the songs remarkable for a kid with no experience, no formal training. I think this is miles above the August Moon songs. I’m so glad I watched it again.

It a revenge tragedy. Franco’s Spain seems to have been forgotten today. It was repressive, grim, misogynistic, homophobic (one could call it genocide) - everything the right would love to have back. It is a cautionary tale that instilled in me great dread.
