If you are looking for Miracle on 34th Steeet, this isn’t it. However, this is a fun, frothy, Christmas movie with a heavy undertone and the ever present ‘message’ found in such movies as this. Kelsey Grammer, as always, was flawless. The daughters were cute, and, yes, they were a bit animated at times, not uncommon in comedies. Not every movie must be Oscar worthy. Some are for afternoon joy, to lift spirits, bring a smile, and send a bit of Christmas joy. The scenery was beautiful, and the movie succeeded in achieving its goal. I judge movies against their intended purpose and their target viewers.
