To call this the Nigerian Harry Potter is to lessen it. Sunny is far more interesting than Harry ever was. And the world craft is excellent. Where Harry Potter has basically a British boarding school, we get a whole panoply of spirits and locations that are outside the realm of the ordinary in Akata Witch and the rest of the series. The only real reason to compare it to Harry Potter is to get people reading it. The possible worlds that could be created if this were optioned for a film treatment would be incredible.
