Have watched every season of Rick and Morty since the beginning, so I decided to give the Anime a chance. Based off of the trailers I wasn't exactly blown away, but still I decided to be open minded and watched the entire episode. I was beyond disappointed. And I've watched the dubbed and Japanese version. Both are a slap in the face to quality Anime and the actual Rick and Morty cartoon. Disregarding the unappealing animation entirely (because I could have gotten past that, I grew up watching Angela Anaconda for goodness sakes 😅), it was hands down one of the most awful things I've watched in recent memory. Disjointed storytelling, random characters without a single hint at a backstory or how they're integral to the plot, and just all over the place. Why is the anime being presented as having no connection to the original show besides the inclusion of the Galactic Space Federation and the main characters? That made no sense. Seemed more like a mocking of actual Anime (which why????) and the original show. Whoever approved the write up, money and time that were spent birthing this travesty needs a proper a* whooping. I do genuinely think that a Rick and Morty Anime could have been awesome if it had been properly done. Seriously, even the intro and outro (two integral parts to some of the best animes to ever exist)were sub par and lacking a genuine Anime feel.
