I agree with many of the other reviews - a fantastic period drama that fascinated me. The costumes, the sets, the scenes are simply gorgeous and the plot twist after plot twist kept me hooked through 76 episodes. A plus for me, there are no nasty sex scenes or even any gore. You absolutely CANNOT watch the 6-episode version that's on Prime. There is no reasonable way to condense over 76 hours of drama and intrigue into a 9 hour show. I started watching it and realized right away something was missing because from one scene to the next I could not figure out what happened there'd be a major change in the characters' lives completely unexplained. So I found it on YouTube with English subtitles and I was hooked, subtitles and all.
