Awful and getting worse. Finally gave up with following the "upgrade" comment to Steven Fry... So unessassry and spiteful. Used to be a family event... With David Tennant - Dr Who is on!! was enough to get everyone together. Now we immediately switch channels. BBC what have you done? Are you totally deaf to your audience? Does public funding make you so arrogant that you really don't care and you are happy to burn the legacy of a great programme on the alter of your show runners political agenda.

Oh dear yet another BBC disappointment. It seems like anything coming out of the drama department has to be re-written to comply with the corporations political commissars will, to enfeeble male characters and insert the required strong heroic female lead. Why not also make her pregnant just to underline her gender superiority. Oh and we need a black character... No matter there is no place for one in the plot nor from the source, just throw one in for the diversity points. Smiles all around the table, another classic toasted on the alter of neo BBC re-education policy. This is becoming all too familiar and tiresome. Did anyone actually read the book? They might have noticed that it was rather good and deserves respect. I suspect that the outrage in the reviews I have read will just bolster the BBC's belief that they must be on the right track. Honestly it's just tragic and I object paying for this trash.

Yet another drama playing to the diversity crowd. Tries hard to suggest that England was multi cultural during the reign of George the third. It wasn't. Queen Charlotte was not black and there was no black Duke of Hastings, in fact there has never been a Duke of Hastings. This gross misrepresentation of Britain history if offensive to the indigenous population and misleading to others. I am perfectly fine with poetic license but this is lying for the sake of virtue signalling. The story is a good romp, and had it not been for the ridiculous casting, enjoyable. Time to stop black washing history and calling it drama. I wonder what Jane Austen would have made of it?
