I rewatched this movie and it was SO GOOD!! Sure some parts are... awkward, but i think most of the one star reviewers neglect to realize that IT'S ON PURPOSE!!! This movie is meant to show that love isn't always pretty, and that people are more than what they show themselves to be. The people of the Dark Forest are "ugly" and that makes some not like the movie, but those people are just so shallow! The songs are amazing, and the contrast of the characters is so good. For those who are upset at how fast they "fell in love" i think you need to realize that it's a movie made back in 2015, you can tell in their fight between each other that they were already interested, the time they spend together after that just makes them more comfortable and open. Love isn't always fast, but it doesn't always take several weeks! When I first watched this movie I didn't understand a lot, but now that I'm a bit older I took a deep dive into the movie, and everything is so much deeper than I realized! If you like musicals, this movie is for you, because there is a LOT of singing! The songs they choose help tell the story, but the lyrics and sounds have more meaning than most realize. Be warned, there are some more adult moments, but it's not surprising to me that they're in a movie like this. A good movie is enjoyable for the kids AND the parents, and trust me, this movie checks all the boxes!
