I am not a very good TV watcher but started watching this when I was sick. I couldn't quit. Dark but oh so great. First of course I loved the music, then the house which is incredible. But the story has so much depth in all directions. Every character is fantastic in their own way. Amy Adam's au natural, has this character to perfection. Patricia Clarkson...I'm speechless with how well she plays her southern Mama with the surprise diagnosis of her problem. Even her husband..such a minor side but played so perfectly as the removed husband lost in old Easy listening music from the 60's in his preppy dad clothes and his cocktails in the always candle lit house. Little sister...oh such a constant contrast from playing the child her Mama wants her to be, to the roller skating wild precocious nymph when Mama is closed away with too much alcohol. Even Elizabeth Perkins...ewe...just love her southern congeniality hiding what she knows.
