Absolutely terrible in comparison to the book. I don’t know why they changed the story line so much, it would’ve been much creepier and clever if they had actually stuck to the story. Poor characters, they lacked the depth they had in The Watchers, Ciara and Daniel both terribly played and lacked any personal progression. The scene of Daniel at the boat was disappointing, they had an opportunity to make it very scary like in the book when the changelings are changing and tormenting him by changing into figures like him. Would’ve made more sense if they also stuck to only Madeline telling Mina that the Watchers are changelings, like in the story, would’ve been more dramatic with Daniel and Ciara. The ending in the book was absolutely incredible and if they had portrayed this in the movie would’ve been such an amazing, chilling twist. Shame the actors weren’t all Irish and the lack of insight into Mina’s character (alcoholic and artist). Understandably movies are never going to be as detailed or good as a book however they missed the main features in the story and ultimately resulted in garbage when this could’ve been portrayed as a scarier, daring film. I hope someone remakes this in line with the story.
