Overall Forza is a good driving game but the developers seem to have gotten lazy when it comes to creating fresh content outside of a new map and quirky seasonal events people play once to get it out of the way. It is by no means an example of what a current gen racer could or should be.
Pros: beautful open world, balance of simulation and arcade style racing, easy to get money for cars and mods
Cons:
-mods are disappointing for a franchise this large. Need for speed has had better customizability for years and I’m not talking about spinners or under glow. I’m talking about how NFS has custom side mirrors, mudflaps, brake calipers, front and rear wheel style, exhaust tips, grills, headlights, taillights, and you can put a wide body kit on almost every car they have. Meanwhile, Forza has a very limited selection of body kits and there’s barely any wide body kits. Forza even removed some modifications that were available in previous games like the wide body kit on the Golf R. This is something even Gran Turismo has far passed Forza on and yet Forza used to offer way better customizing options than Gran Turismo.
-car selection is also disappointing. Forza bosts a large number of vehicles to choose from but so many of the ones they have are redundant and not interesting at all to a majority of the car community. There’s hardly any newer cars in here (2020+) especially if they’re not super cars.
-multiplayer was very buggy when the game first came out but even with most of those bugs gone it’s still not a great experience. It shouldn’t be so difficult to find and get into a multiplayer race or event.
