Rich in detail about life unimaginable to a generation later enriched by technology, I forced myself to read the book one chapter at a time. What these people had was a sense of family, duty and devotion. The author kept the reader guessing how he would resolve conflicts between the antagonists.

Each reading exposes new riches. I particularly liked FDR's vision and how the US won WWII with massive electrification to outproduce planes.
