I have so much more to do with my life that sit through a vastly over drawn out, thinly disguised attempt to rehash war of the worlds. Not after guns blazing or explosions necessarily, just something to engage me - but the subplots, although numerous, were utterly contrived. Realising the darkened scenes are in part to build suspense, they were often so dark you had absolutely no idea what was going on. Have got more suspense and frights when sticking my head under the covers and getting attacked by the cat in the middle of the night. Maybe could have worked as a short miniseries, but to make it 10 episodes - THEN a second series is a mind blowing waste of money and time at all levels - production, actors and the general public having to sit through this. Do yourself a favour, before you subject yourself to this, take a moment to think about what else you could do with the 10+ hours you are going to wee up against life’s timewall.
