It lacks the panache, cleverness and courageous daring of Miss Fisher. The Ms Fisher character seems stilted, not smart and at times just plain dumb and the plotting is boring. If you loved the Miss Fisher series, the Ms Fisher series will be an unfortunate disappointment.
