I loved the Kingsmen franchise— probably one of my favourite in this day and age. So, naturally, I was plenty excited for the new addition to it.
But, oh boy, was it dull.
Throughout the film, I cared little for the plot nor the characters and could barely follow the storyline. Who were these people? Why should I even care? Even at the end, I genuinely have no idea.
Rasputin's character was fun, probably the highlight of the film. I loved how over-the-top he was in the Christmas party scene but then, his appearances also ended in that scene.
Conrad— genuinely still don't know nor care about him— had the most boring death ever. The slow-motion was unnecessary and I could barely follow why and how he was doing in the war scenes. One second he was screaming, the next he was dead.
If they wanted to provide backstory to the well-established agency, they should've went about it another way— without abandoning the main cast in which we were following from previous films in the franchise.
Honestly, I don't even know what to say apart from it being dreadful and confusing. Never really had problem with following storyline and plot before in spite of my inattentiveness so this is definitely a first (and rather disappointing) experience for me.
