This was the oddest, most physically nauseating movie I can ever recall seeing. It has definite Hitchcock vibes, which I appreciate but that value was lost when compared to the constant illustration of gratuitous vulgarity. The main characters are obviously mad from isolation and what seems to be hallucinogenic moonshine, constant stress and hardship. The unanswering seduction of the mysterious light reminded me of scenes of the briefcase from Pulp Fiction. I'm glad I watched this movie as a favor to my daughter so I can tell her not to bother unless she wants to walk away with more questions than answers. I would not watch again. The fact that this is shot entirely in black and white does not subdue what is meant to be felt to be in living color. The best scene is when Tommy loses his mind about how Tom smells, looks, and acts....that's mimmick worthy. The Acting I give an A+ the movie visuals I give an A, what this film made me feel, what it made my own imagination to conjure (to fill in the blanks) within me is why I will not watch it again.
