Nothing is perfect but The Expanse comes as close as TV/Streaming science fiction drama has come up until this point. My comments are based solely on the Amazon show. I have not read the books and I wont until the show is over. Take great screenplay writing that incorporates real-world physics, committed and talented actors, directors whom know what they are doing, creative and imaginative behind-the-scenes technicians and artists. Lay them on a pillow made of a proper $budget$. The result? A show that makes Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Firefly, Babylon 5, etc... It renders all of these shows somewhere between pretty good to kids stuff. I just hope with one season remaining, that they can tie up all the threads and do the closing for this show justice. One season doesn't seem like enough.
