There is no better game. I started playing BF2 when I was 13, I’m now in my 30s. In the last 20 odd years nothing has even come remotely close to being as influential or as versatile as Battlefield 2 was. It had multiple expansions, a great progression system, a rewarding player statistics page system where you could see all your stats.. it had one of the greatest modding communities and movie making communities the gaming world has ever seen (Miss the SiR guys). I’m talking sandbox mods where you could build, total conversion mods like star wars, realism Mods like project reality, sniper mods like Wookie Mod where you had to dial in windage and elevation.. racing mods.. you name it the game had it. I would rush home from school to login and play with my buddies. I remember Friday nights getting pizza with my brother and we would just play BF2 for like 10 hours.. The day EA closed the servers due to gamespy closing down was a sad day for everyone. We thought we had hope with Battlefield 3 but BF3 was the end for PC modding communities and dedicated servers for EA. There are modded clients now that allow you to play BF2 but the player numbers are small.. Rest in peace Battlefield 2. You will always live on in my memories.
