Animation was great. Movie was absolutely terrible. To say I’m disappointed in Disney is an understatement. The whole movie is about a girl coming to age and acting rebellious towards her mother, lying, yelling, hiding and generally being disrespectful. Sure I get it. I’m a woman of in my 20’s and we all go through a rebellious time when your young. But honestly it’s not for the better when we act and behave like that and showing a girl acting like that to young impressionable minds. Is not helpful in todays world. I don’t think the part about the period isn’t terrible, though I feel like there should be a warning before the movie saying so. I don’t feel like this is a young children's movie. The fact that she runs away is also very scary in todays world. I’m sorry but putting that thought in to a young mind is terrible. I also feel like Disney throwing in the my panda (body) my choice is not something that should be on a Disney movie. Are we trying desensitize that abortion is acceptable to little girls! I’m sorry but this is just wrong Disney! The world is messed up enough. Can we just keep kids, young kids for as long as possible without shoving these things in to their face. I know times are different but really! What happed to the good old Disney movie that were just happy and full of good meanings.
