Review: Gutar Gu – Disappointing Decline After Season 1
I had some hopes after watching Gutar Gu Season 1 – it was simple, youthful, and relatable. But Seasons 2 and 3? Total disappointment.
The tone of the show changed drastically. What started as a sweet coming-of-age series turned into cringe-worthy love drama with forced “adult-like” romantic acting that felt out of place. Season 3 especially was a disaster – the storyline lacked depth and maturity. What was most frustrating was the toxic message that love is more important than your career. That’s not just unrealistic, it’s irresponsible messaging for the audience.
And let’s talk about the acting. Vinesh, the lead actor, simply doesn’t deliver. His expressions are limited to that same dull puppy face, and his character seems poorly written and flat. It’s hard to take his emotions seriously when the performance feels this underwhelming.
Honestly, I regret watching the later seasons. This series had potential, but instead of growing, it fell flat with weak storytelling, shallow characters, and misplaced priorities. Not up to the mark at all.
