Just finished watching Jersey on Netflix. I have really enjoyed watching Shahid Kapoor’s recent films. Having recently watched Kabir Singh (again!). I couldn’t help myself finding similarities between Arjun & Kabir’s character, especially with Shahid’s same use of expressions at times. Once again Shahid’s acting was on point & he did the role justice. He played Arjun’s subdued, brooding character well & Mrunal Thakur played her role well too… but unfortunately Jersey was a bit too slow paced for my liking. I appreciate the storyline isn’t a romance but I failed to feel the chemistry of the leads & the story just seemed to drag- I definitely felt the length 2hr 48mins of this film. That being said I enjoyed the plot. (Jersey is not a stereotypical Bollywood film with lots of dancing & glamour). I did feel the bond & the sense of love between Arjun & his son & I enjoyed the ending and the twist which strengthened Arjuns lovable character. Overall the movie was a good watch… I wouldn’t say amazing, but definitely worth a watch if you have a few hours to spare.
