For an outside perspective, it could’ve been seen as a moderately decent horror movie about some possessed animatronics.
But for someone who’s been a fan of the games since their childhood, it sucks.
They made the animatronics look so good, and the set so good, and the cast so good, and they completely threw it away.
I didn’t expect it to follow the games to a T, but the only correlation it had with the games were kids possessing the animatronics with a dude in a yellow bunny suit that killed them. That’s it. Everything else was completely jumbled. William Afton had no motives at all, the Bite of 83 never happened, Micheal wasn’t related to William at all, Golden Freddy held no significance, there was a random kidnapping that had nothing to do with Freddy’s, there were barely any real jumpscares, and had a predictable and even cheesy ending.
“The movie was made with the fans in mind” what fans?
I’m happy they made a movie, sure, but all they had to do was use what was there. It was all there laid out for them. They didn’t even have to look that deep, if they just kinda followed the core elements of the lore that we gather from the mini games it would’ve been satisfying.
Thoroughly disappointed, especially for a movie that was literally written and produced by Scott.
