Much like the movie alien, this game is built on suspence. Don't go in thinking you are going to be running from monsters the first few hours, it's not that kind of horror. If you allow yourself to read everything, and process it, it will click. Some reviews hate the new sanity system. (Very minor spoiler) - if you stand in the dark for too long, you may see images flash- but this is because the developers want you to manage your light sources. It is to discourage those that run through the game in the dark.
