Why, oh why Hollywood? Every Bill Shatner cliche was exhibited in this monstrosity of over-budgeted special effects and sub-standard acting. Didn’t 2012 teach you anything? If the actors had been more cerebral and less melodramatic and directors then toned down the frequency of the effects and left the audience to their imaginations, this might have been a more satisfying saga of end-time events. I get it. That was not the intended result of the movie. So, I guess this is a case of leading the viewers and force feeding them emotionless pablum. Am I being too harsh here? Hmm. Unlike this farce of PG-13 family fare, I’m just being real. These actors should know better. Ok, enough bad PR. Special effects rate a C+. Acting rates a D-. The music scores a B-. A bit too heavy at times, though. The ending rates an F for underhanded predictable quality. I can’t cry for people who never are given the chance to develop a rapport with the audience. Where were leaders of other countries during this dreck? Or, does patriotism in this movie purposely overshadow the other 6.5 billion others who would suffer in a “Geostorm”?
