Patrick Boyle – Google

Most episodes are pointless filler that don’t advance the plot in any way and serve very little in character development. Echo was one of my favorite characters in TCW so it was disappointing to see him reduced to a wooden plank that had no personality and didn’t do anything even remotely impactful to the story. Tech is even worse than echo, somehow having even less personality and simply serving the role of a walking encyclopedia. Hunter didn’t change much throughout the season, but seeing him learn to better look over omega was at least something. Wrecker and Crosshair were the only characters I enjoyed. Seeing Crosshair align with the empire and turn on his brothers was interesting, but he got very little screen time due to the heavy focus on pointless filler. Wrecker was an enjoyable character due to his personality and his relationship with Omega. Omega I found very annoying overall, but she had her moments; I liked all of her interactions with Crosshair. My biggest complaint with the series is how 3/4 of the episodes don’t advance the plot in any way. Episode 13 was especially terrible, pretty much any episode with Cid was garbage. The show tried to compensate for its poor writing with constant cameos, Easter eggs, and references. The filler episode revolving around capturing Jabba’s rancor was especially egregious. This show is a huge step down from TCW and nearly as bad as Rebels. The Bad Batch is only worth watching if you’re a huge TCW fan.
