All I read is speculation, what-ifs, and no hard facts, the fact is there is no evidence he owned slaves period and to contrast Ulysses S. Grant owned slaves who was Lincoln's General before he was president. So if there is evidence Ulysses S. Grant owned slaves where is the objective evidence that Lincoln did? Ulysses S. Grant owned slaves and his wife did, both inherited, all freed prior to the war. These are the presidents who owned slaves: 1st George Washington, 3rd Thomas Jefferson, 4th James Madison, 5th James Monroe, 7th Andrew Jackson, 8th Martin Van Buren, 9th William Henry Harrison, 10th John Tyler, 11th James K. Polk, 12th Zachary Taylor, 17th Andrew Johnson, 18th Ulysses S. Grant. Many of them freed their slaves, and most opposed the expansion of slavery in an attempt to kill slavery. So this Marxist attempt to muddy history and demonize where this was the first country to set the circumstances that led to chattel slavery death in the West. Even the First Congress tried to eliminate slavery, but it fell apart because to fight England they needed the South, and eliminating slavery would mean the South would have remained neutral in the Revolutionary War.
