Dolores Redando is a great writer and these books have your attention the entire trilogy and even prequel. The movies have some pretty terrible acting. Especially the main character - she over plays the role and is too orchestrated. She’s not a good actor, really at all or this is just not the role for her. Her partner is probably the best actor throughout the entire trilogy. Movies never really mimic books well, but these are too far away from the actual writings of the book and again, the acting, eek.
