It's pretty mean to Australia. Like a negative of a travel advert to Australia. Don't go, the men are gross, together. Ne'er do they care how an attractive woman feels, you know? They support each other in this, or fight territorially like dogs. Plenty of Australian barking in this movie. The actresses are great, really, it really sucks to see them get the Australian treatment like this. I seen some Australian moviegoers felt empty when they left? Seeing their culture depicted like this in a realistic filmic style no less. Maybe they couldn't handle reflecting on why they should treat women, especially Canadian women, better? That's what Australia is about, and this film is about Australia. The Canadian women come, make fun of the accents, then get called derogatory names a lot. They speak to each other: look, this is the culture, like come on, let's just maybe get paid, maybe not, whatever, and let's go. Cut to a man looking menacing, aggressively creepy, kind of handsome, entitled. Yeah, we can do this. .. Can we? Come on. Let's hang, let's not be uncool about it, let's not be unjustifiably anxious. No, no, let's be justifiably anxious, even heroically anxious. And maybe we'll get out alive, back to Canada, where apparently it also sucks. Not necessarily the men, but I think the movie is getting at a universal message about the sexes. So it's like yea, this is what women deal with, even in Canada, maybe especially in Canada? but make no mistake, in particular it's particularly crass in Australia, that backwards region. Let's keep that in mind, folks. It's important and entertaining to do so. Two stars, because it's competently made, -3 stars for the thing itself.
