In general, I'm an Eddie Murphy fan. My very 1st VHS tape I ever bought was Beverly Hills Cop (paid $40 for a used copy when the movie came out and still own it to this day). Eddie HAS been in some "stinkers," but I always felt he not only should've won an Oscar for his role in Dream Girls, but I was truly hoping he would've won the Oscar for his portrayal as Rudy Ray Moore in Dolemite Is My Name. He was fantastic in it!

I was born and raised in Missouri. 1st generation American from immigrant parents who came to the U.S. from Europe after the end of WW II. Am also 1st person in my family to join the service (8+yrs US Navy). You want a movie that depicts racism, differences in social status and economic wealth and a movie that depicts the great state of Texas at its finest, then you will enjoy the story of the Benedict family saga that is portrayed by Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor. An exceptional performance by the late, great James Dean rounds out this classic tale of fortune and woe that will be appreciated by all for its entertainment value at its finest.
