Malayalam movie Aattam is one of the top five malayalam movies ever made. Lot similar to 12 Angry men, it beats even the original in many sense. At par with movies like kumbalangi nights, thondi muthalum drikshashiyum, maheshinte prathikaram, etc. It brings out the jealousy, hypocrisy, greed, cowardice, selfishness inherent in humanbeings in a very subtle way. This movie teaches that every human being has his own selfish motives and intentions in whatever he does and decides in life and none is above it. Director Anand Ekarshi is simply superb and taken malayalm movie to a different level. Overall a well directed and acted movie in all sense with 5 star rating. It is commendable to note that malayalam movies have produced large number of talented young artist/directors. Never to miss this movie.

You can say the movie is reasonanly well directed. However there is too much violence. All the gory things are shown in detail which could have been avoided. I have a creepy feeling that Napolean is deliberately shown in poor character. I doubt all the finer and personal details shown are really facts. The script is good, background music is good. There is an obvious smooth flow from one scene to the next. The time lapse of almost 20 years is very sensitively scripted. The characters of Josephine and napoleon is very well acted. Costumes are excellent. However at the end when you come out of theater you have a feeling of exhaustion and tiredness and a feeling of not feeling so good. A time not well spent.
