This movie has connected with me in so many ways. From a film maker/artist way, an emotional way, and a personal way. I'll start from the film maker way. To a young and learning film maker; this movie is beautiful. The artwork is amazing. The way the scenes are animated and shown is beautiful and stunning. The music is also amazing. The timing and tone of the music helps make the movie memorable in my opinion. Next is emotional. This movie has the amazing ability to express emotions to the audience without bogging down the tone of the movie. Which is rare in an animated movie. But because the movie is able to do that, it in my opinion is a masterpiece. Now we get to the final one; How this movie connected with me in a personal way. I have been and still am depressed, to the point of wanting to end my own life. I'm doing much better and don't really think about that stuff. I have been bullied all my life, which led to my depression. So when I saw the main characters thinking about killing themselves, I know how they feel, because I've been there before. I mostly connected with Nishimiya because of what she's been through. Being bullied, being yelled at, thinking that "Everything would be better if I never existed." So yeah, that's my rating. This movie is amazing in so many ways and you need to experience it for yourself.
