I gave this movie every chance however about 3/4 into this ....... to be honest I don't know. I had high hopes, only to have those hopes thrown over a cliff and dashed on the rocks of....artistic vision? Over the years I have seen many of the intellectual properties I love go through changes, for good or bad and I have never really felt attacked until today. Most of the time I just try to enjoy a movie for what it is and forgive those involved if the movie does not match any knowledge I have of the story or lore. I've never lost sleep over a bad film in a franchise. I've never really gotten angry over a movie, until today. The studio should feel embarrassed and should apologize for making me feel embarrassed for them. The best parts of this movie were a few one-liners and some of the casting which angered me, even more, when I realized they were wasted on ..... this....fever dream that was brought on from huffing ammonia while afflicted with untreated rectal sores. I think the thing that confesses me the most is, there was lore, so much lore the plot was written for them, all the work was done from them! In short, this is what happens when someone skims over the lore, snorts too much coke, and runs around pretending to ride his my little pony plushy screaming "YEAH, BUT WHAT IF WE (insert random find your inner power montage)" Watch Annihilation it's a better movie
