I loved this movie! It is as passionate, moody & dark as the book. Whether or not Emily Bronte actually had a love affair, she obviously had a tumoultous heart hidden under all that proper etiquette. How else could she have written her novel?! And yes, society of the day did have strict codes of conduct but l imagine how scintillating those glances would have been & lead some ( happily l hope), astray.
