Thought it was a third rate production. Whilst I appreciate the good acting, it’s about as interesting as watching paint dry and won’t be watching the rest of the series. I know that the foul language existed from the days of Shakespeare, but this seems to exist on sentences full of expletives without a catching storyline.
It reminds me a bit of the awful rendition of Poldark a few years ago. I’m not averse to period dramas as long as they tell a good story as two series of Poldark did. I’m sure that there were more interesting stories about the industrial revolution. Okay, this story seems pretty deep, but it’s so boring and disconnected from anything tangible and looks like a cheap production. If the money wasn’t available then don’t do something on a shoestring budget and expect to fool the discerning public. Sorry, just not for me.
