With the release of Discovery, I was disheartened to see that it was Star Trek only in name but not in spirit or character.
I had heard whispers of The Orville, but nothing more until 3 years after its release.
Upon watching the 1st 3 episodes, I am happy to say, that while The Orville is not Star Trek in name, it is in spirit and character, as well as cast, music, structure, loyalty and affection. If you are a true Trekkie, you will recognise that The Orville emblazes all the hallmarks of what Star Trek originally stood for, and you can see that Seth Macfarlane, as well as all the cast (especially with many coming from previous Star Trek series, more so than Discovery), took a lot of care to pay respect and continuity to a franchise and a future-story that does indeed compel one to look at the stars with wonder, and Go Where No Man Has Gone Before.
Please keep Star Trek alive Seth Macfarlane.
Many thanks from Britain.
