The redeeming qualities of this show are few and far between.
Pros - the score is beautiful and so is the scenery. I believe they way music overall integrated with scenes especially when overlooking the landscape flows easily with Jackson’s work. I enjoyed some of the action choreography as well (not all, some). If you knew nothing about the lore or were only mildly invested into the prior films, this would still be a fun ride.
Cons - It does not stay true to the heart of Tolkien, his mythos, timelines etc hardly at all (theres some, but very little and it’s stretched like butter over too much bread). The writing is over all pretty bad and the acting can only fix it so much. The character direction for Galadriel is so one dimensional and off putting that any redeeming qualities in any scenes there might be are completely overshadowed by her attitude and dialogue that does not fit anywhere in the actual story or development of her character. 2 stars because I do believe that if there was better writing it could have been decent as I do believe there would good actors that just didn’t have anything to work with, but even then, the story it’s self just makes no sense to the actual plot/legendarium of the Second Age
