It’s fun… but a bad game. Not the kind where it’s so bad it’s fun, but the kind where the core gameplay loop is fun (because the Pokémon formula itself is fun) and anything outside of that is embarrassing. Graphics aren’t everything in a game, however what you see is Scarlet/Violet lacks direction, passion, or fidelity, and instead you see constant cut corners and lack of polish. The lazy graphics are disappointing, but I can turn a blind eye to them. What I really mind is the FACT I can’t walk somewhere without pop-up, dropped frames, camera problems. Even though these don’t make the game unplayable, it makes immersion impossible and the general experience frustrating. There is more to criticize like the towns, the gyms, the AI, the removal of certain series-staples, etc… But I won’t go on forever. I don’t get joy from leaving bad reviews, however with the unfinished state of the game, I can’t in good faith recommend spending $60 on it to anyone. It does have fun moments, but dont defend this game, you deserve better.
