I love Will Ferrell and John C Reilly, and I am a Sherlock fan, so when I heard this movie was coming out, it was a no-brainer: I had to see it! Prior to going to see Holmes and Watson, my husband checked the reviews, and found most of them declaring "thumbs down", but, hey, EVERYONE I knew LOVED the Titanic movie when it came out, but by the time the main guy in Titanic was going under for the umpteenth time I was ready to push him down myself, so I chose not to judge the Holmes & Watson movie through comments... as I'm sure 'you' are wise enough to do. So, we went, and we laughed, and we got the jokes, and we got the sarcasm, we even got the "TRUMPed" remark, and we laughed again. The easily offended may walk away with their noses in the air, but we got the humour, and we laughed again! Needless to say, we're still Ferrell, Reilly, Holmes and Watson fans!
I must say, Ralph Fiennes plays his part so well! The accent he uses stunned me; I never expected that accent to come out of his mouth. I loved it! :D Well done, Mr Fiennes!
And Kelly Macdonald!! Good call for Mrs Hudson. It was weird hearing her real accent, lol, but she was great, too!
Hugh Laurie, Pam Ferris, Rob Brydon, and Steve Coogan... What can I say; I love them all!!!!!!
All in all, a great cast, good plot, and a funny movie! I am hoping there will be a second one!
