Jab Fighter 6 was released with a small roster. In the end, most of the characters will be DLC. In 2023, this should have at least 30 playable characters and unlockable costumes in game but unfortunately the roster is barren and there is hardly any content for the actual characters. Capcom has released costumes as DLC and they cost a fortune and are mediocre compared to previous installments. Once again, Capcom has released half a game with less than what other fighting games are offering but the masses are impressed because the bar was so low.
The new mechanics are bad and lack nuance compared to the previous games. Drive Impact kind of ruins the heavy footsie game. There seems to be an issue with alot of normal moves and their frame data, often times you and your opponent end up hitting each other at the same time and this occurs way more than in previous games. It messes up the flow. Capcom went out of their way to make crossups virtually useless at high level, and there are almost no resets. Also, they never fixed the throw escape. Every other game as a throw escape that works. There is no incentive to not backroll roll when knocked down so players will do it EVERY time leading to constant chasedown gameplay. The lack of chip damage means that at high level, guys will hold down and back with no reprecussions. The input reader is also malfunctioning. You can see inputs for moves and sometimes they don’t come out. Unfortunately for players, they must wait half a year for a balance update as Capcom is catering to the competitive community.
There is no wifi filter on PS5 to only play those with a wired connection.
In season 2 and the input reader is still bad. Parry doesn’t have a direction input so it’s a block everything button with almost no risk. Drive Rush still eats inputs.
