The book captures some of the angst of young women carrying the burden of ‘honor’ in any family, especially Catholic families. Then it does not delve into what happens to Crissie, but spends more time on the old theme of alcohol abuse. Of course Tina finds the letter. But I found the faux ending of Tina finally having a chance to ask the doctor /father the hard questions and she lets him off the hook. I had a few more questions for that’pathetic’ old man!! Not satisfying.
