It has its good sides: Set, pacing, visuals, the characters which were shown. Some aspects I did not enjoy so much as it focuses too much on House Atreides and I was missing the other players. Not much Harkonnen, not much Bene Geserit, no spacing Guild, no Emperor, etc. Considering 155 minutes or so screening time and covering half of the first book, there should have been shown more of the political and scheming aspects. Also Villeneuve’s other films seem to be able to only focus on a few characters but here I find it too little.
