I agree that Gayle dominates the conversations, especially as they relate to Black people in the news. However, I think that Norah O'Donnell is a professional and I have never seen her show bias against a Black person/situation, so I see her as equally competent as Gayle to report on these stories.
I heard about the rumors that Gayle forced her ouster, but I don't believe it. I have worked in Corporate America and seeing a colleague get $30 million dollar contract when I am as equally qualified would rub me the wrong way, to put it mildly. The reason I left Corporate America was the politics and I believe this is a big part of the reason for the shake up.
I only look at CBS This Morning because of the comeraderie, the chemistry between the anchors, especially between Norah and Gayle, and the serious nature of the broadcast that is sometimes presented in a lighthearted but compassionate manner.
Something that is very disturbing to me is the set. I do not like the block-colored banners around the titles of the news stories. I prefer the "acrylic-looking (or glass-looking) banners, as they complemented the CBS logo as well as the desk. This look was more modern and less obtrusive. It looks too much like Good Morning America's broadcasts.
