Loved this series.
And huge props to Disney for finding and casting Alaqua Cox! Thank you for introducing the world to this extraordinary actress who is Native American, deaf and has a prosthetic leg! It's like she was made for this roll.
I'm also excited for the new Marvel Spotlight model. This series was its first showing and it is designed to bring stories from the MCU that anyone can watch without having watched everything before it.
The first episode brings the audience up to speed on who Maya is and highlights from previous shows and movies to help bring everyone up to speed. It was done in a fun and engaging way with enough new info to engage anyone who has seen all of the MCU and those who have never seen a single marvel movie alike.
Maya/Echo is such a complex character and I truly appreciate how they told her story, weaved in new lore, honored her indigenous roots, and her disabilities.
The action scenes were fun, the supporting cast of characters were awesome.
I can't wait to see what's next for Echo!
My only complaint isn't about the show but about Disney+...the closed captioning (which is a necessity unless you understand ASL) is horribly difficult to read and there is no way in the app to adjust the closed captioning settings.
