If you're looking for a 90 minute summary of the anime, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a reinterpretation of the basic premise, you've found the right film. The characters are reimagined in a way which keeps the movie interesting for all audiences. Not a perfect film by any means but far better than expected. 5 stars as a film adaptation.
