One of those books that I won’t ever forget. My Northern Vacation? is a beautifully written, relatable and enjoyable memory of the time the author spent at a mine site far in Northern Ontario. What an amazing experience for the author! Through each day of his time there, we learn about the trials and tribulations, the self-discovery and how the ‘Animal Cards’ played such a poignant part in the encounter. The book made me laugh, made me angry, made me cry and I felt I was reliving the frustration the author had with people saying one thing and doing another or not following through. Most of all, I loved how the author so eloquently described the changes that the experience up north provided for him and the benefits the journey of self-discovery had. Thank you for this great gift to the world.
