I tried to have sympathy for the characters, any of them. And I just couldn’t. If the characters weren’t despicable, then they were just boring. I just don’t care what happens to these people.

If you want to know the true, and far better explanation of Cahalan’s story, read the book. The movie is unexceptional and sacrifices a great story for unbelievable drama.

As with all the retro shows, the modern speech patterns of the younger actors messes up the believability of the portrayals and story. Otherwise it’s somewhat entertaining.
