Dumbfounded by this movie. Every twist and turn was stupider than the last. The dialogue sounds like it was written by an alien. One piece of amazing dialogue: "I'm not great at a lot of things, Rachel, but keeping my two lives separate is not one of them." What the hell kind of sentence is that in a movie of this budget?! Not to mention the obvious nepotism of having M Night Shymalan's daughter as the uber-popular idol with her terrible music and like 8 full-ass song performances. At least Josh Hartnett was good at being an unhinged serial killer. He really hammed it up to make up for the terrible, terrible writing.

Completely unnecessary season. Season 1 was a masterpiece and cultural phenomenon, and Netflix wanted to milk this series as much as they could, so they just brought back the main characters for dragged-out action set pieces and regurgitated themes from season 1. A bunch of character tropes were recycled, the side story with the cop goes absolutely nowhere, and they even leave it on a stupid cliffhanger with nonsensical character motivation. Unless you ABSOLUTELY need more squid game, (and after the reality show, no one should) avoid this season.

Amazing show. The sets were so faithful to the video game environments, the characters were flawed and showed growth. There was a mystery about what the vaults really were, and how Lucy would react to finding out the truth. This show is a perfect example of a video game adaptation done right: - Highlight the core narrative and expand on it - Introduce the world in an exciting way to people who never played the games - Has a ton of easter eggs and nods to the games Music was amazing (as to be expected of Ramin Djawadi). Can't wait for season 2.
